Research · Economics U.S. healthcare spending grew 4.6% in 2018, reaching $3.6 trillion or $11,172 per person. As a share of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product, healthcare spending accounted for 17.7%. The economic realities of delivering healthcare to an aging U.S. society will be challenging. This group works to innovate macroprudential tools and economic models of prevention, delivery and provider reimbursement that efficiently provide greater value for lesser cost.
